Visual & Written Indian Mission Founders Life Histories - 2012

Indian missions started to sprout around 1970's due to the efforts of sacrificial Christian workers who commit themselves to spread the Good news of Christ all over India. They mobilised many people for missions and led many movements which made many Indians to follow Christ. Their efforts are huge and awesome, yet none of their life history is documented for others to have a look and learn from it. So IMA has planned to visually document and preserve the life history of these leaders and the mission efforts and make it available to all mission organisations, churches and theological institutions to have a better understanding on the indigenous efforts.

Vision:

To produce visual document of the life stories of Indian mission leaders and their efforts by interviewing various mission leaders, their co-workers, mentors and also people from different walks of life influenced by them. These documentaries will incorporate the video clips of his mission work, progress and life story.

Objectives:

• To preserve the history of Indian mission efforts from 1925
• To recognize the role of missions in shaping the Indian history
• To educate the present and future mission leadership to understand their roots

Method:

Two audio visual technicians interview will write, capture content and produce documents.

Expected Outcome:

• To increase the understanding of Christ followers of the past and recent indigenous mission efforts.
• To allow the Christian workers and theological college graduates to absorb the labours of Indian Christ workers.
• To challenge present and future Christian leadership to be relevant To initiate significant movements without the past failures
• To produce contextual leadership in mission, church and theological colleges
