Mrs. Pramila Rajendran - Membercare Consultant for Missions  

Report from September to October 2009

  • Conducted Trauma Counseling Training from 7th to 12th September, 2009 at Bangalore.

  • Worked on HRD files and looked into new applications for joining IMA.

  • Networked with more Membercare workers in India and globally.

  • Facilitated the Membercare track in AICOCIM 13th to 16th October, 2009 at Hyderabad.

  • Attended the ETHNE-09 meeting from 30th October to 4th November, 2009 at Bogota, Columbia, and facilitated the Strategy Group of Membercare in ETHNE-09 along with three other facilitators. It was a wonderful time of networking, connecting and learning from one another about Membercare.

  • I encouraged myself by getting back into my counseling Skills.

Prayer Concerns:

  • For more caregivers to network and understand the issues of Membercare.

Report in the month of August 2009

  • Prepared for trauma Counseling Training from 7th – 12th September 2009.

  • Edited and looked at the materials of Trauma Counseling.

  • Looked into the matters of HRD in terms of applications, letters and talking to various prospective people when they sent their applications.

  • I encouraged by the encouragement of my colleagues who helped me in preparation of the Trauma Counseling.

Report from January to July 2009

  • Facilitated Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills Workshop from 12th – 16th January for Corporates in Hyderabad

  • Participated in Indo- Korean meeting on 21st January 09 at Hyderabad.

  • Conducted and facilitated Leadership Development in Interpersonal Skills – Membercare from 9th – 16th February, 2009 at Bangalore.

  • Hosted CEO and Spouses Membercare retreat from 17th and 18th February 2009 at Hyderabad.

  • Visited Vishwa Vani Organization at Chennai, IIM at Bangalore and Bishop Heibert College at Trichy and TVGM mission at Trichy from 11th – 15th March 2009.

  • Went to Jakarta, Indonesia for Asia Theological Missions from 16th – 20th March 2009.

  • Traveled to London for meetings from 19th – 24th May 2009.

  • Interviewed few people for IMA.

  • Connecting with other Membercare people in India and also other parts of the world.

  • Facilitating the ETHNE Membercare.

  • Facilitating and on one Leadership team of Global Membercare.

  • My work colleagues are very encouraging and we have moment of fun and laughter which keeps me going.

Report in the month of November 2008

  • Worked on the strategy and new Exco and board for GMCN.

  • Went for reunion of Facilitators of Interpersonal Skills which was refreshing.

  • Participated in  ‘International Council of Link Co-ordination’.

  • Encouraged to see Net working with various agencies and working with them.

  • Pray for more people to join Membercare work.

Report in the month of October 2008

  • Taught in the Interpersonal Skills workshop from 6th to 10th October in Nagpur hosted by IEM.

  • Took session on ‘Grieving Well’ for IMA staff.

  • Dialogued with various missions regarding the effectiveness of Membercare for their personnel’s.

  • I am encouraged to see that mission agencies are interested in the care for their personnels.

  • Pray for Funding for more Consultation and Training of Membercare.

  • Pray for more people to work with who has heart for Membercare

  • Pray for the Energy to go on.

Report from June to September 2007

  • Spent much time sorting out and corresponding with member care national and global issues.

  • Many letters and email were answered on different issues of member care with various missions.

  • Attended the Global Member care Leadership team along with six others in Vienna, Austria to discuss and plan for the Global Member care. We discussed on the Vision Statement of the Global member care to be put forward for the care givers across the world for implementation. The team is also working on the questionnaires to be sent to the care givers to find out which areas they are specialized and how best they can plug in to help the Global and regional community.

  • Took  a seminar on Member care issues for missionaries in tent making situation in the Tent - makers International Congress and Consultation,  Malaysia,9-11 July 2007.It was well accepted as it was presented in the light of who is a tent maker? and how best care can be taken for those who are working in different parts of the world.

  • Attended MUT board meeting on 29th.

  • 8th August attended Seva Bharat Board meeting at Hyderabad.

  • Took part in PAN SUMMIT and presented paper on Member care in August, Calcutta.

  • 25th August participated in Professional meeting in Calcutta.

  • 5th September taught Member care issues in Missions in Advanced Missionary Leadership Training at Hyderabad.

  • October 2nd shared about member care for Christian workers at the gathering hosted by City care network.

Report in the month of September 2006

  • Spent much time sorting out and corresponding with member care national and global issues.
  • Involved in IMA India member care, Global WEA Missions Member care, Ethne Unreached peoples’ member care and several other teaching programmes such as Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills etc. Much to be dialogued and planned for all the above.
  • Planned, worked hard, corresponded, and involved to organise the Andhra Pradesh IMA CEOs and couples meetings at Seva Bharat at Hyderabad. I was happy it went well.
  • Planning and corresponding the CEOs and couples meetings in other parts of the country.
  • Preparing for my SYIS Teaching programmes at Malaysia.
  • Many letters were answered on different issues of member care missions.
  • Pray for both of us as we are mentally and physically exhausted. 

Report in the month of August 2006

  • Worked on several Membercare issues from home and Office
  • Planned several CEOs and Spouses meetings at Hyderabad and other cities.
  • Planned and worked on several leadership issues for the global Membercare issues with the WEA MC.
  • On 17th spent a day together with Mr. Ravi David & Rajendran discussing membercare issues of the IMA member CEOs and discussed the PhD thesis that Ravi is working on the CEO care.
  • On 20th & 21st visited Interserve at Pune with Meyila Longchar to discuss and plan for the MK retreats.
  • Bought several MK book from Interserve to give them to the CEOs of IMA Members.
  • Encouraged by the news that Mrs. Carol Houghton has ordered 30 copies of the Missionary Kids books. Great to know that different people appreciate the efforts for the membercare issues for missions.
  • Struggling with the lack of leadership personnel to meet many membercare issues across India.
  • Struggle to raise the needed funds for the membercare issues for missions in India. I am totally convinced that caring for missions’ fraternity will have better reaching of this nation.
  • Need prayer for me to press on.

Report in the month of July 2006

  • I organised CEOs and Spouses retreat for IMA member missions in different cities of India. Restored India Membercare news. Dialogued with various member missions regarding membercare issues. Also did much work with the International WEA MC Membercare leadership team on various issues which would also affect Indian missions and churches. Attended the meetings in South Africa on these issues.
  • I was encouraged by a good response from the mission leaders from across the country for membercare issues and for the CEOs and Spouses retreat. Encouraged by the trust being built among the members of the missions. Encouraged by my daughter Preeti who has become a Counselor for the Woodstock School in Mussorie, Uttranchal, India. Encouraged by my son Pradeep who is very committed in his college studies at Loyola College, Hyderabad on journalism and communication and is continuously thinking and writing. Encouraged by his interaction with his teachers and helping the co-students.
  • I struggled with much to be done but lacking the time. Struggling to find non-judgmental friends and partners who would stand with me and pray for me.
  • Pray for like-minded friends and partners to move forward in serving missions community. Prayer is also needed for energy and discipline in work and balance between the work and the family.
